Opmerkingen: Graniet is een dieptegesteente en een stollingsgesteente, zie info onderaan de pagina. Dit beeld is in haut-reliëf gemaakt als hangend muurbeeld. Erin wilde ik contrasten realiseren in de vormen en in de structuren. Zo is er een deel met lijnen, uitlopend in een punt ontstaan. Ik heb een deel gepolijst en een deel heb ik onbewerkt gelaten. Boorgaten die er onderaan te zien zijn vond ik mooi erin te laten voor de expressie van het beeld, als een soort poortjes. De achterzijde is hol gemaakt om hem minder zwaar te maken.
Comments: Granite is a deep rock and an igneous rock, see info at the bottom of the page. The sculpture is created as a high-relief wall sculpture. In it I wanted to realize contrasts in the shapes and in the structures. For example, a part with lines, which ends in a point, has been created. I polished a part and left a part unfinished. I thought it was nice to leave the drill holes that can be seen at the bottom for the expression of the image, as a kind of gates. The back is made hollow to make it less heavy.

Opmerkingen: deze mooie grijze vulkanische Volvic steen komt uit de Auvergne, een jong vulkanen gebied. De beigewitte Euville kalksteen, met veel kleine kristallen erin, komt uit midden Frankrijk. Het beeld is gemaakt en taille directe, rechtstreeks in de steen, naar aanleiding van de vormen van de stenen. Maten van de stenen:

Opmerking: In dit abstracte beeld zitten dunne licht groenige lagen, de steen zelf lijkt op afstand zwart, maar is heel donkergroen. Hierdoor deed het me denken aan het Noorderlicht. Het beeld is gemaakt en taille directe, rechtstreeks in de steen, naar aanleiding van de vormen. Diabaas is een granietsoort uit Duitsland.
Comments: This abstract sculpture contains thin light greenish layers, the stone itself appears black from a distance, but is very dark green. This reminded me of the Northern Lights. The statue is made 'en taille directe', directly into the stone, following the shapes. Diabase is a type of granite rock from Germany.

In het gepolijste deel, wat donkerder werd, zie je de lagen en kristallen in de steen. Contrast komt door de 2 structuren van gepolijst en van de beitel sporen. Door de hardheid van deze steen moesten de vormen heel eenvoudig blijven. Mede hierdoor heeft dit beeld een abstractere vorm gekregen. De symboliek in dit beeld verbeeldt een oog of spleet of doorgang naar een andere werkelijkheid, spiritueel geïnspireerd. Vormgeving en inspiratie werkten door elkaar heen in het beeld. Het beeld is gemaakt en taille directe, rechtstreeks in de steen, naar aanleiding van de vorm van de steen.

In the polished part, which became darker, you can see the layers and crystals in the stone. Contrast comes from the two structures of polished and chisel marks. Due to the hardness of this stone, the shapes had to remain very simple. Partly because of this, this image has taken on a more abstract form. The symbolism in this image depicts an eye or slit or passage to another reality, spiritually inspired. Design and inspiration worked together in the sculpture. Opmerking: Staande torso naakte vrouw. Deze figuur houdt een basic vorm, door het harde materiaal. Zij heeft door de structuur van het hakken een mooi licht en schaduw effect. Deze groene Dolomiet kwam uit Duitsland.

MARMER:
Het woord "marmer" komt van het Griekse woord "marmaros" dat "glanzende steen" betekent. Het is een omzettingsgesteente - uitleg onderaan de pagina. Marmer wordt op diverse plaatsen in de wereld gewonnen o.a. in Italië (wit, grijs, antraciet, rood, groen), Griekenland (wit, ivoorkleurig, rood), Spanje (wit, grijs, grijswit) Portugal (roze), Turkije (rood), Pakistan en Frankrijk (groen), Brazilië (blauw), Namibië turquoise en kan allerlei verschillende kleuren en hardheden hebben, van middelhard gesteente t/m graniet. Naast kleurverschillen zijn er ook verschillen in adering van fijn tot grof. Het fijnste Italiaanse marmer heet statuario. Een Italiaanse marmer met een grovere korrel heet ordinario.
MARBLE:
The word "marble" comes from the Greek word "marmaros" which means "shining stone". It is a transformation rock - explanation at the bottom of the page. Opmerking: Er zijn cirkels in het beeld gekomen, in het gepolijste deel en in de vormen erachter, op de foto is dit wat lastiger te zien. De door de cirkels ontstane bollingen en hollingen geven het beeld spanning, wat nog versterkt wordt door de eigen wolkachtige tekening van de steen, die in het gepolijste deel zichtbaar is. Als deze steen nat is, wordt de blauwe kleur nog intenser. De foto's zijn gemaakt op verschillende locaties. Inspiratie voor de Blauwe Berg ontstond door de heuvels van de Auvergne, deze heb ik ook gemaakt en ingekleurd in linodruk en in een schilderij en in keramiek.
Comments: Circles have appeared in the sculpture, in the polished part and in the shapes behind it, this is a bit more difficult to see in the photo. The convexities and concavities created by the circles give the image tension, which is further enhanced by the stone's own cloud-like drawing, which is visible in the polished part. When this stone is wet, the blue color becomes even more intense. The photos were taken at different locations. Inspiration for the Blue Mountain came from the hills of the Auvergne, which I also made and colored in lino print and in a painting and in ceramics.

Hierboven zijn een alle Bloemblaadjes in Italiaans marmer + een roze albast + een kleine oranje seleniet te zien. Ze zijn geïnspireerd door de kamille bloemblaadjes, vergeet-me-nietje bloemblaadjes, goudsbloem- en rozen bloemblaadjes in mijn tuin. Ze horen bij elkaar met als thema de liefde. Vroeger als je iemand heel erg leuk vond gingen de meisjes bij kleine madeliefjes 1 voor 1 een blaadje uittrekken, waarbij we bij elk blaadje zeiden: hij houdt van me, hij houdt niet van me. Stone sculptures: the PETALS - love theme
Here above you can see all the Petals in several marbles + a pink alabaster + a small orange selenite. They are inspired by the chamomile petals, forget-me-not petals, marigold and rose petals in my garden. They belong together with the theme of love. In the past, when I was a little girl,if you really liked someone, the girls would pull out a petal from little daisies one by one, saying for each petal: he loves me, he loves me not. Opmerkingen: De marmeren Veer is gemaakt van Italiaans Paonazzo marmer uit Toscane. Deze steen is meer ivoorkleurig met grijze en roestbruine aders, door ijzeroxide. Hierdoor ontstaat in delen van de steen een lichte oranje gloed in de buurt van deze aders. Het is een statuario marmer door de fijne korrels in de steen.
Aan dit marmer beeld heb ik gewerkt over een lange periode, soms stond het een periode stil en was er bezinning over de vormgeving. Uiteindelijk is het een liggende veer geworden, grotendeels gepolijst - echter ook met een gehakt deel om het beeld contrast te geven. Het heeft sierlijke lijnen. In het bovenste vlak wisselen vlakke en omhoogkomende delen elkaar af. De Veer heb ik vaker getekend en een keer gemaakt in klei.
Comments: The marble Feather is made of Italian Paonazzo marble from Tuscany. This stone is more ivory in color with gray and rust brown veins, due to iron oxide. This creates a light orange glow in parts of the stone near these veins. It is a statuario marble due to the fine grains in the stone. I worked on this marble sculpture over a long period of time, sometimes it stood still for a period and there was reflection on the design. Ultimately it became a horizontal feather, largely polished - but also with a chopped part to give the sculpture contrast. It has graceful lines. In the upper plane, flat and rising parts alternate. I have drawn the Feather before and once made it in clay.
Ik werk vaak klein, want dit blijft makkelijker zelf te vervoeren en te exposeren. Soms heb ik beelden toch groter uitgevoerd, meestal in brons, dit was fysiek wel een uitdaging, omdat ik in 1984 een zware rugoperatie heb ondergaan. Tot dusver heb ik in steen vrijwel alleen kleiner werk gemaakt, het beeld van de marmeren Veer is tot dusver mijn grootste stenen beeld. Echter, dat wat je in het klein kan maken kan je ook in het groot maken.....
Voor een opdracht wil ik dat graag doen.
I often work small, because this remains easier to transport and exhibit by myself. Sometimes I have made larger sculptures, usually in bronze, but this was a physical challenge because I underwent serious back surgery in 1984. So far I have almost only made smaller works in stone, the sculpture of the marble Feather is my largest stone sculpture so far. Opmerkingen: Haute reliëf, uitgehold aan de achterzijde. In deze marmer zitten hele grote kristallen. Om dit te laten zien heb ik uiteindelijk scherpe contrasten gemaakt tussen gepolijst en grof gehakt. Vooral in de zon zie je de kristallen. Wasem is de ademdamp die terug waait in je gezicht in de wind.
Comments: Haute relief, hollowed out at the back. This marble contains very large crystals. To show this, I ended up making sharp contrasts between polished and roughly chopped. Especially in the sun you see the crystals. Vapor is the vapor that blows back into your face in the wind.

Opmerkingen: Eerst was er het idee van het Roze Wolkje, deze heeft mooie bolle vormen gekregen, zoals bij een cumulus wolk en heeft een richting zijwaarts omhoog gekregen. Erna heb ik dit herhaald in het kleine donkere wolkje. Het geeft een leuk contrast in donker en licht, in hol en bol en in ruw en gepolijst. Op de foto kleine ruwe steentjes ervoor gelegd - als regendruppels. Het roze wolkje is alleen met de beitels bewerkt, puntbeitel en tandijzer, op de hoge lichten wat fijner bewerkt. Door de beitels ontstaat een hobbelige structuur zoals bij een cumulus. De speksteen is gepolijst en heeft daardoor een gladde structuur, wat een mooi contrast geeft met het ruwere van de roze wolk. Ik heb Wolkjes in verschillende materialen gemaakt, zie ook bij Keramiek.
Comments: First there was the idea of the Pink Cloud, it has got beautiful convex shapes, like a cumulus cloud and has been given a direction upwards sideways. Afterwards I repeated this in the little Dark Cloud. It provides a nice contrast in dark and light, in concave and convex and in rough and polished. In the photo, small rough stones placed in front of it - like raindrops. The pink cloud is only worked with the chisels, pointed chisel and tooth iron, on the highlights a bit more finely processed. The chisels create a bumpy structure like a cumulus. The soapstone is polished and therefore has a smooth structure, which provides a nice contrast with the rougher pink cloud. Opmerkingen: Geïnspireerd door het element Lucht. En het Weer en het Klimaat. De 2 groene wolkjes hebben mooie bolle vormen gekregen, zoals bij een cumulus wolk en een voortstuwende kracht gekregen. In eerdere wolkjes heb ik dit ook gedaan: in het Roze wolkje in Portugese marmer, in het Kleine Donkere Wolkje in speksteen & bij het zwart witte Wolkje in Bardiglio marmer (kijk bij de Marmers). Ze hebben donkere en lichte delen en zijn hol en bol. Deze Wolkjes heb ik een glad gepolijste structuur gegeven. Ze horen bij elkaar. Ik heb Wolkjes in verschillende materialen gemaakt, zie ook bij Keramiek.
Comments: Inspired by the element of Air. And the Weather and Climate. The 2 green clouds have been given nice convex shapes, like a cumulus cloud and have been given a propulsive force. I have also done this in previous clouds: in the Pink cloud in Portuguese marble, in the Small Dark Cloud in soapstone & with the black and white Cloud in Bardiglio marble (look at the Marbles). They have dark and light parts and are concave and convex. I have given these Clouds a smooth polished structure. They belong together. I made Clouds in several materials, also look at Ceramics

Opmerking: De gebroken druppel heeft prachtige wisselende rode, zwarte en witte lagen in de steen en bolle vormen. Hij heeft door verschillende bewerkingen verschillende structuren gekregen, het binnenste is de ruwe steen, een deel is aan de buitenzijde gepolijst en bij het andere deel is een stukje gepolijst en grotendeels de bewerking met de puntbeitel intact gelaten. In de vormgeving was ik bezig met hol en bol. Het is een tijdloos beeld. Ik heb druppels in verschillende materialen gemaakt, zie ook de pagina's bronzen beelden & keramiek.
Comments: The broken drop has beautiful alternating red, black and white layers in the stone. It has been given different structures through various operations, the interior is the rough stone, a part has been polished on the outside and the other part has a piece polished and largely the machining with the pointed chisel has been left intact. In design I worked on concave and convex. It is a timeless sculpture. I made the Drops in several materials, look also at the pages bronze sculptures & ceramics.

Opmerkingen: Dit beeld is intuïtief en taille directe gemaakt als vervolg op diverse blad & bloemvormen waarmee ik al een tijd bezig ben. Door de sterk afwisselende lagen en de grote variatie in kleur kreeg hij een abstractere vorm. Door alle lagen in deze steen heb ik dit beeld voornamelijk met de machine gemaakt, later met de hand gepolijst.
Comments: This sculpture was created intuitively and 'en taille directe' as a follow-up to various leaf & flower shapes that I have been working on for some time. The strongly alternating layers and the large variation in color gave it a more abstract shape. Due to all the layers in this stone, I mainly made this statue by machine, later polishing it by hand.

Opmerkingen: De bloemknop is geïnspireerd door de rozen in mijn tuin. De knop is een Springstone en de bladeren zijn verschillende serpentijnstenen. De bloemknop is figuratief, gepolijst en aan de onderzijde hebben de blaadjes beitelsporen om contrast te geven met de bloembladeren. De bladeren onder de bloemknop zijn bijna abstract/organisch en ten dele bewerkt en ten dele gepolijst, een ander deel is ruwe steen gelaten voor het contrast en om de mooie kleuren van de stenen te laten zien. Deze bladeren zijn en taille direct ontstaan. Aan de bloemknop ben ik erg lang bezig geweest, Springstone is erg hard, het heeft de hardheid van marmer en ik bewerkte het alleen met de hand. Het is een tijdloos beeld wat gaandeweg ontstaan is.
Comments: This flower bud is inspired by the roses in my garden . The bud is a Springstone and the leaves are different serpentine stones. The flower bud is figurative, polished and at the bottom the leaves have chisel marks to contrast with the petals. The leaves under the flower bud are almost abstract/organic and partly processed and partly polished, another part has been left raw stone for contrast and to show the beautiful colors of the stones. These leaves are made 'en taille directe'. I spent a very long time on the flower bud, springstone is very hard, it has the hardness of marble and I only worked it by hand.
It is a timeless sculpture that has gradually emerged.

Opmerkingen: Springstone is de hardste serpentijnsteen soort. Het heet springstone omdat bij het hakken in de steen schilfers vanaf springen.
Deze steen heeft de hardheid van marmer. Inspiratiebron voor dit beeld waren brandnetel bladeren in mijn tuin.
Het beeld is niet volledig glad gepolijst, de beitelsporen tonen als het ware de brandharen. Het is een liggend beeldje,
het kan ook staan - dan verandert het beeld naar een paar wat elkaar vasthoudt. De vorm is gaandeweg ontstaan.
Comments: Springstone is the hardest serpentine stone. It is called springstone because when chopping in the stone, flakes jump off.
This stone has the hardness of marble. The source of inspiration for this sculpture were nettle leaves in my garden.
The sculpture is not completely smoothly polished, the chisel marks show the stinging hairs, as it were. It is a reclining statue,
it can also stand - then the sculpture changes to a pair holding each other. The shape has gradually emerged.

I thought it was nice to leave the basic shape of the stone intact.

Opmerkingen: Deze steen heeft veel verschillende kleuren in zich - groen, bruin, wit, rood, wat hem heel bijzonder maakt.
Zowel aan de boven- als aan de onderkant heb ik bladvormen en nerflijnen uitgewerkt. De nerflijnen zijn erin gemaakt en niet erop,
zodat het een soort gootjes worden waaruit het regenwater eraf kan lopen.
Inspiratiebron waren de jonge beukenbladeren uit de lange beukenhaag in mijn tuin. Ik vond het leuk om het beeld niet volledig glad te polijsten, en beitelsporen zichtbaar te laten. De bladvormen en de lijnen die de nerven verbeelden maken het een levendig beeld. Het is een tijdloos beeld. Meer bladeren en bloemblaadjes zijn op de pagina Bloemblaadjes.
Comments: This stone has many different colors in it - green, brown, white, red, which makes it very special. I worked out leaf shapes and grain lines on both the top and bottom. The grain lines are made in it and not on it,
so that they become a kind of gutters from which the rainwater can run off.
The source of inspiration were the young beech leaves from the long beech hedge in my garden. I liked not polishing the sculpture completely smooth, and leaving chisel marks visible. It's a lively and timeless sculpture.

Opmerkingen: Dit beeld heb ik organisch gemaakt naar de vorm van de steen. De bizon zat er al in en ik heb het eruit gehaald. In de Indiaanse mythologie is de bizon een brenger van overvloed. De Bizon is gemaakt van een bruine serpentijn steen genaamd Spotted Opal. De bizon zelf is gepolijst en de voet is van roze Portugees marmer.
Comments: I made this sculpture organically to the shape of the stone. The bizon was already in there and I took it out. In Indian mythology, the bison is a bringer of abundance. The bison is made of a brown serpentine stone called Spotted Opal. The bison itself is polished and the base is made of pink Portuguese marble.

Opmerking: Dit beeld is organisch gemaakt naar de vorm van de steen. In de vormen zag ik een neushoorn. Aan de ene zijde is de steen lichter van kleur, aan de andere zijde donkerder. In de steen zitten bruinrode ijzererts aders. Afrikaanse inspiratie door de samenwerking met de beeldhouwers uit Zimbabwe.
Comments: Note: This sculpture was created organically to the shape of the stone. In the shapes I saw a rhino. The stone is lighter in color on one side, darker on the other side. The stone contains brown-red iron ore veins. African inspiration through collaboration with sculptors from Zimbabwe.

Opmerking: Unica. De hoorn is gemaakt van de hardste serpentijnsteen soort, dit is Springstone. Het blad is gemaakt in brons. Ten tijde van dit beeld had ik al meerdere malen een eenhoorn gemaakt in klei en brons, getekend in pastelkrijt en linoleumdruk print gemaakt. Ik heb een klein sprookje over een eenhoorn geschreven en erna is dit beeld ontstaan. Het is de hoorn van de eenhoorn, die een blaadje aan zijn hoorn heeft geprikt. Beide onderdelen hebben terugkerende lijnen met hol en bol.
Comments: The horn is made of the hardest type of serpentine stone, this is Springstone. The leaf is made in bronze. At the time of this sculpture I had already made a unicorn several times in clay and bronze, drawn in pastel chalk and made a linoleum print. I wrote a little fairy tale about a unicorn and afterward this image was created. It is the horn of the unicorn, which has a leaf stuck to its horn. Both parts have recurring lines with concave and convex.

In dit beeld wilde ik 4 verschillende structuren realiseren om contrasten te maken en diepte te creëren Er zitten van nature veel lagen en lijnen in deze champagne albast. De inspiratie voor het maken van deze vormen en motieven kwam vanuit de bladeren en bloemen uit mijn tuin , echter de steen zelf bleef de aanleiding. Aan de achterzijde is dit beeld uitgehold, om het minder zwaar te maken aan de muur.
Het beeld is gemaakt en taille directe, rechtstreeks in de steen, naar aanleiding van de vormen van de stenen.

Comments: Hanging wall sculpture in high relief. In this sculpture I wanted to realize 4 different structures to create contrasts and depth. There are naturally many layers and lines in this champagne alabaster. The inspiration for making these shapes and motifs came from the leaves and flowers in my garden, but the stone itself remained the inspiration. This sculpture has been hollowed out at the back to make it less heavy on the wall.
It's made 'en taille directe' directly into the stone, following the shapes of the stones.

Opmerkingen: De vorm van deze roze geaderde albast is geïnspireerd op de vorm van een schelpje, dat ik van een bezoek aan zee had meegenomen. De vloeiende lijnen, terugkerende punten en de holle en bolle elementen maken het tot een abstracte vorm. De roze aders zorgen voor levendigheid in de steen. Afhankelijk van de lichtval is deze vorm op sommige stukken bijna doorzichtig. Het is een tijdloos beeld.
Comments: The shape of this pink veined alabaster is inspired by the shape of a shell that I brought home from a visit to the sea. The smooth lines, recurring points and the concave and convex elements make it an abstract shape. The pink veins provide vibrancy in the stone. Depending on the light, this shape is almost transparent in some areas. It is an ageless sculpture.

Opmerking: Dit drakenkopje is deels organisch, deels figuratief en heeft repeterende vormen bij de stekels, waardoor licht en schaduw ontstaat. Deze figuur houdt een basic vorm en heeft door de structuur van de steen een expressief effect.
Deze Indiase speksteen is een hardere speksteen. Deze Travertijn komt uit Iran.
Comments: This dragon head is partly organic, partly figurative and has repetitive shapes at the spines, which creates light and shadows. This figure has a basic shape and has an expressive effect due to the structure of the stone.
This Indian soapstone is a harder soapstone. This Travertine comes from Iran.

Opmerkingen: Dit beeldje is geïnspireerd door de bruine heuvels die ik in Portugal in de zomer zag en door het element Aarde. Er zit een terugkerende beweging in, zoals de zomer daar steeds weer terug komt. In een bepaalde stand zie je in het beeldje de terugkerende punten, dan lijkt het wel een drakenrug. Het voetje moest een Portugese marmersteen zijn. Meer heuvels op de keramiekpagina.
Comments: This sculpture is inspired by the brown hills that I saw in Portugal in the summer and by the element of Earth. There is a recurring movement in it, like the summer returns there again and again. In a certain position you can see the recurring points in the sculpture, then it looks like a Dragon's Back. The base had to be a Portuguese marble stone. More hills on the page of Ceramic.
Grotendeels werk ik met de hand, ik gebruik weinig machines bij het maken van een stenen beeld, dit maakt ze authentiek, natuurlijk en origineel. Hierdoor krijgen ze een mooie uitstraling. In de zachtere stenen is het vormgeven heel makkelijk en kan ik gedetailleerder werken. Hoe harder de steen is, hoe minder gedetailleerd de vormen worden. Hardere steensoorten zijn geschikt om buiten te staan bijv. als tuinbeeld of in een vijver.
Inspiratie vind ik vaak in vormen in de natuur + de elementen, in planten, in dieren en in het prachtige materiaal zelf. Met mijn tijdloze stenen beelden wil ik graag het mooie van de stenen laten zien. Het vormgeven en de expressie worden bepaald door het materiaal en door het onderwerp, door dit naar voren te brengen gaan ze spreken. De dieren beelden en magisch-realistische beeldjes zijn vaak spiritueel of mythologisch geïnspireerd. De dieren staan voor een bepaalde kracht of waarde. De organische beelden zijn direct door de natuur geïnspireerd en door de elementen.
Mostly I work by hand, I use few machines when making a stone sculpture, this makes them more original, more natural and more lively. In the softer stones, shaping is very easy and I can give it more detail.
I find inspiration in shapes in nature: its elements, in plants & flowers, in animals and in the beautiful material itself. With my ageless stone sculptures I would like to show the beauty of the stones and the shapes in nature.
The shaping and the expression are determined by the material and by the subject. By bringing this up they will start speaking. The animal sculptures and magical-realistic figurines are often spiritually or mythologically inspired. The animals represent a certain power or value.

Voor het overige is het bezoek op afspraak.
Met info over workshops speksteen + boetseren. Eigen datum inplannen met een groep is ook mogelijk. Tijdens de open middagen staan er bronzen +stenen beelden en keramisch werk in de tuin + in het atelier. Er zijn veel bloeiers in de tuin, die is gemaakt voor kleine diertjes, insecten, bijen en vlinders. Alvast rondkijken kan op deze website.
